Paula Williams - Ways into Work

Circle 33 resident Paula Williams was introduced to Ways into Work by her sister, who gave her a leaflet explaining the service.

"I sent an email to Melanie Peake who is coordinating the project for Circle 33; she arranged an appointment to discuss my circumstances and possible options. Melanie was able to give me advice and guidance relative to my chosen career path, this involved catering to my specific needs, offering insight to interview techniques then practicing in a mock interview, completing application forms, CV formatting and generally how to present my skills and abilities in ways that get me noticed.

"The outcome of this support on the Ways into Work Programme is that I now have two volunteer placements, both of which support my studies in counselling.

"I am volunteering with Ways to Work, As Melanie’s assistant one and half days a week. This will give me hands on experience, to improve my existing skills and learn new skills in outreach working within the community. My second volunteer placement will start in a few weeks, working for a charity for the homeless."
