Resident involvement

Resident Involvement is essential to everything Circle 33 Housing Trust do. There are lots of ways to get involved in decisions about the home you live in and the services you receive.

What can you do?

As a resident, there are several ways you can get involved with Circle 33 Housing Trust.

Estate Champions

Estate Champions are unelected individuals who represent the estate services concerns or interests of residents living on an estate.

The Estate Champion will:

  • Join their Neighbourhood Manager and other Circle 33 Estate Services staff during estate inspections
  • Help to monitor action plans drawn up to improve estate improvement.

To become an Estate Champion, contact your Neighbourhood Manager, or call Circle 33, on 0800 073 0417 or 020 7447 3100.

Street Property Representatives

Street Property Representatives are elected individuals who represent concerns or interests of residents living in a cluster of street properties rather than an estate through a Neighbourhood Board.

Street Property Representatives will:

Provide a ‘voice’ for the concerns and issues or residents living in street properties with Circle 33 and through ward and borough community initiatives.

Help to monitor action plans to address housing management, anti-social behaviour and other resident issues.

Local Links

Local Links are individuals who represent residents living in a small area. Residents are able to elect up to two representatives, who will be responsible for liaising with Circle 33 on issues of common concern or interest.

There is not an official residents’ group but the representatives are able to put forward general views and act as a contact with Circle 33 Housing Trust.

Focus groups

Focus groups can be organised by residents or Circle 33 through a Neighbourhood Manager (NM). Residents can raise issues of concern or be consulted on their views regarding specific issues, for example, anti-social behaviour, youth projects, and green spaces.

Talk to your neighbours about the issues you want to meet about and contact your NM who can support you with organising and publicising the meetings.

Have Your Say panel

Members of the Have Your Say panel come together as part of a focus group to discuss issues that impact on the whole organisation as opposed to local issues, for example the residents’ website, estate services, lettings and transfers or property standards.

To become a panel member, contact your Neighbourhood Manager (NM) or Vanessa Browne on 0207 447 3227.

Tenants' and Residents' association

A formal committee of elected residents that access and manage a budget to support local activities. The committee represents all residents within the community and holds regular open meetings with Circle 33 staff in attendance when required.

Contact your Neighbourhood Manager or the Team for Communities who will meet with residents and guide them through the setting up process.
