The electrical appliance manufacturer Beko is issuing recall notices for certain models of fridge freezer, following a blaze in a tower block in Bermondsey in South London - believed to have been caused by a faulty model.
Fire chiefs are urging people to check if they own particular models(*) made between January 2000 and October 2006. They are particularly concerned about fridge-freezer fires, as they develop rapidly and produce very toxic smoke.
