The project was conceived in 2002, when Circle 33 launched a competition in association with the Architecture Foundation called “Accommodating Change”, which called for architects to design an innovative scheme. It needed to be a very clear statement about inner city housing: compact, car-free, and formed of streets and squares which foster public interaction.

Designed by architectural practice CZWG, East India Dock Road will deliver a major mixed use regeneration project, and a destination in its own right. The development is located in a 0.8 hectare "mini-city" comprised of a series of medium and high rise mixed use buildings, up to 37 storeys, designed around a central boulevard, piazzas and landscaped gardens.

Circle 33's Turners Court development has a wide frontage onto St. Ann’s Road, to the west an open outlook onto Chestnuts Park and to the east North Grove. The design has responded to the open expanse of Chestnuts Park to the clear views along St. Ann’s Road and to the Victorian houses sitting on the north east corner of the site.

Brooklands Avenue is a £14.3M affordable housing development in the heart of Cambridge city centre - part of the Accordia development. In October 2008, the Brooklands Avenue development won the prestigious Stirling Prize for Architecture, awarded by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA).

Old Ford has scooped two ‘What House? Awards for their development of 200 studios, one and two-bedroom apartments in Eastside, Bow E3. The judges commented: “This development has lifted the area, brightening up what was once a foreboding, near-derelict 1960s social housing estate".

Greening-the-Box, Wherry Housing Association's retro-fitted 1920s house in Ringland Norfolk, has solar panelling and 'super insulation', so it can use 80% less energy than an equivalent home. Unlike the average three bedroom property which uses 5m tonnes of CO2 every year, its designers predict just 1m tonnes per year of CO2 will be emitted.

The Ice House, Caledonian Road The Ice House, Caledonian Road
Circle was awarded the Best Small Development for the Ice Block in Islington in the inaugural year of the Affordable Home Ownership Awards. The development is a mixed tenure scheme and includes 21 apartments for shared ownership. All the units were successfully sold by the Sales & Marketing Team to local residents.
