Rockingham Forest case study

Circle and Rockingham Forest Housing Association (RFHA) have been working in partnership to tackle the serious shortage of affordable housing in Northamptonshire.

The partnership, which is the first of its kind for both Circle and RFHA, has committed to build 150 properties in the Northamptonshire area each year. It marks the beginning of Circle’s growth into Northamptonshire, where it aims to work with RFHA to be a landlord of choice for both current and future tenants.

The development project in Northampton also forms an important part of Circle’s plans to have 2000 homes approved for delivery through grant and non grant funded opportunities in 2006/07 and build such partnerships with other housing associations.

The first of the new properties were completed earlier this year and have been released for shared ownership over a five year period along with other affordable rented housing.

“The partnership working between Circle and Rockingham Forest will provide local delivery of housing services, backed up by strong, flexible central services.” David Williams, Director of Business Growth, Circle.

“Our relationship with Circle will result in many more affordable homes being provided for the people of Northamptonshire.” Rosemarie Anderson, Chief Executive, Rockingham Forest Housing Association.
