Charles Clarke MP visits Wherry

1 November 2008 - We were delighted to welcome Rt Hon Charles Clarke to visit the Group’s partner, Wherry Housing Association. Mr Clarke was introduced to staff working within the different departments of Wherry where he spoke to them directly about their individual role within the organisation.

One project discussed was Forward Thinking, a three year homelessness prevention strategy for the county which is the first document produced by housing association in the country.

The strategy brings together best practice from associations across Norfolk and aims to actively sustain tenancies and reduce evictions in partnership with local authorities and other agencies.

Mark Jones said: “We are determined to involve our residents in the continual shaping of our organisation and we know that people want more than decent homes and well run services.

Residents want safe, attractive neighbourhoods and a community that works and Wherry’s job is to work in partnership with residents and other agencies to deliver this.”
