Bishops Stortford sheltered housing scheme celebrates 10th year of great services

This year the sheltered housing scheme at Valley Court celebrates its 10th birthday. EPIC Trust, which manages the Bishop’s Stortford scheme and is part of the affordable housing provider Circle Anglia, used the special occasion to celebrate the past decade of providing high quality care and support services with a big party for residents, their families and friends.

The event was opened by the scheme manager Linda Pankhurst, with an emotional speech including highlights and memories of the last ten years. Some of the original residents cut the big anniversary cake during the ceremony, which was attended by over 45 people. Guests were also treated to a delicious buffet, tombola and live entertainment from resident William Glanville.

Valley Court offers a wide range of services for older people to enable them to maintain an independent lifestyle, including help with benefit claims and finances, gaining access to other services, advice, advocacy and much more. The friendly team also helps to facilitate social activities for residents and the local community.

Linda Pankhurst said, "We are really proud to be able to celebrate our 10th anniversary with our residents. This is an important milestone for us and the celebrations are part of our mission to enhance the life chances of residents by creating sustainable communities and providing great services."
