Sheltered Housing

Mercian has six sheltered schemes across the West Midlands. The schemes all vary in size but generally consist of self contained flats, with a bedroom, lounge, kitchen and bathroom. All schemes have communal facilities, attractive communal gardens, a laundry room and guest rooms

Extra Care Sheltered Housing

Extra Care schemes offer the same facilities as sheltered schemes but are run in partnership with Social Services, who provide support to residents who need just that little extra help. If you would like more information please refer to the Adult Social Care information held on the Birmingham City Council website.

Mercian has one Extra Care Housing scheme:

Cheshire Court, Cat Lane, Shard End, Birmingham, B34 6PZ

To apply for Extra Care housing you must contact your local authority neighbourhood office and complete the Extra Care housing application form, or speak to someone from Social Services who will assist you with this.
