Our 2,550 leaseholders are now leaseholders with Merton Priory Homes. Apart from the change of freehold, there will be no other change to the conditions of leases.
Because leaseholders have bought their homes from us, they will not be entitled to the same improvements as tenants. However, they will benefit from the estate and environmental improvements that transfer delivers. There may also be an opportunity for VAT savings on agreed major home improvements.
Leaseholders will now also have a greater say in the way in which the new housing organisation is run and managed as there will be two places for leaseholders on its Board of Management.
