Applications to the Community Fund will need to meet one or more of the priority needs expressed by local residents and outlined in more detail in the Merton Priory Homes Community and Economic Development Strategic Plan 2010 - 2015 (352 KB).
The priorities are:
1. Children and Young People
2. Economic Well-Being
3. Local Environment
4. Community Cohesion
5. Neighbourhood Working
Following our Community Fund Review in Feb 2012, we have added an additional priority:
6. Health and Well-Being
Projects need to aim to meet the needs and aspirations of MPH residents and the communities in which they live.
Local residents and community groups who have a potential project idea that will make a difference in their neighbourhood are encouraged to apply for a grant. If you are interested in applying but would like some support to do so or would just like to discuss your ideas with us, please contact the Community Development team for an appointment or simply for feedback by email or telephone.
There is currently one grant programme available for application:
Funding is available up to £3,000 for a variety of local projects, one-off events or equipment purchases. Projects need to aim to meet the needs and aspirations of MPH residents and the communities in which they live.
Only one Empowering Communities application from each group, in each financial year (April to March) will be considered. Applications will be scored by a Grants Panel and recommendations made to the Community Development Steering Group for a final decision. Projects must not start earlier than seven weeks after the application deadline.
The next application deadline for our Empowering Communities Grant Programme is 5pm Wednesday 1st May 2013. Applications will not be accepted after this deadline.

This grant is targeted at funding activities that can create and sustain Merton's communities, bringing people together where they feel safe, proud to live and can grow together. Funding is available from £3,000 to £10,000 per year, to 2015.
Only one Creating Sustainability application from each group will be considered. Applications will be scored by a Grants Panel, recommendations are then made to the Community Development Steering Group and in turn to the Merton Priory Homes Board for a final decision.
Our deadline for application for funding from April 2013 has now passed. Our next grant application round for projects from April 2014 will be in Autumn 2013 - dates and an application pack will be published in early 2013.
