Merton Priory Homes (MPH) is committed to working in partnership with local residents to improve, monitor the standard of cleaning, communal repairs, ground maintenance and environmental improvements on all estates. A number of our estates are represented by formally recognised residents’ association and they currently work in partnership with MPH to quickly identify these issues and recommend improvements.
The role of Estate Champions is to provide a link with MPH and local residents to improve the environment of an estate through co-operative efforts. The Estate Champion programme will be aimed at our larger estates, where there is no formal recognised residents’ group in operation.
The purpose of running an Estate Champions programme is to:
• Involve residents in assessing services and recommending improvements
• Promote co-operation between MPH and local residents
• Provide residents with an insight into how MPH works
• Monitor service levels over time
• Provide information on planning service and environmental improvements
The role of an Estate Champion includes
• Conducting estate inspections – either independently or with MPH
• Reporting any communal repairs
• Participation in estate action planning/suggestions for environmental improvements
• Acting as a formal point of contact between the local residents living on the estate and MPH
What support will we offer?
The Estate Champion role is a voluntary role, no payment is awarded for participating. However we will provide support to all Estate Champions by re-imbursement of expenses incurred from any action taken. We will also provide training.
