Graffiti in other places
We do not usually remove graffiti from private property, but there are things you can do if you are a victim of graffiti.
- You should remove it yourself as quickly as possible because it attracts other graffiti to the surface if it is left.
- You can defend a vulnerable wall or fence from graffiti by planting some fast-growing ivy or a prickly hedge.
- You can sometimes use detergent and a scouring brush to scrub off graffiti on non-porous surfaces covered with masonry paint, gloss paint or tiles. Traces may be left but should fade with time.
- If you can’t remove the graffiti you may have to try specialist techniques and materials. We can advise you on different removal methods and arrange for a contractor to give you an estimate for carrying out the work.
