The Neighbourhood Wardens report environmental crimes such as graffiti, abandoned vehicles, fly tipping and anti-social behaviour.
They also organise youth events such as football matches, arrange events for young people, visit elderly people at their homes and provide a reassuring presence to the whole community. Wardens can be teachers, listeners, advisers, mentors and a friend.
Currently the Neighbourhood Wardens patrol areas within the wards of Abbey, Cricket Green, Figges Marsh, Lavender Fields, Pollards Hill and St Helier.
The wardens are a dedicated team, incorporating an Operations Manager, Supervisor, seven Neighbourhood Wardens and two Town Centre Wardens.
