High Path neighbourhood warden

Acting as the eyes and ears for the local community. The wardens’ role incorporates three main responsibilities. They are reducing anti-social behaviour, getting residents involved with community based projects and ensuring his patch is free of any environmental issues, such as fly-tipping or abandoned vehicles.

News & Getting Involved

Your local neighbourhood warden worked with Merton Abbey Primary school and their Year 5 pupils as part of the Junior Warden scheme Safer Merton from November 2008 through to February 2009. The scheme covered the role of neighbourhood wardens, anti-social behaviour, environmental crime, road and fire safety, safety in and around the home, the use of CCTV, as well as an awareness of the local neighbourhood.'

The aim of the scheme is to provide a range of activities but around the school curriculum to help promote good citizenship and an awareness of the local environment and we hope that what children learn will make them less likely to carry out anti-social behaviour later in their lives.

A second scheme was run with Merton Abbey Primary School (Year 5 Victory Class) from November 2009 to January 2010 and we are planning to run another scheme with the school towards the end of 2010.

Your local neighbourhood warden has been awarded the London Ambassador for the 2012 Olympics
