We have received information that the impostors, a female and a male, have been trying to gain access to properties under false pretence. The woman talks to a resident asking a number of questions, while her male companion goes inside the property under the pretence to have a look at what decorating needs to be carried out.
It would appear that these people operate in the same way as the impostors who we warned about in August 2011. We have made all our staff aware about it and asked them to be extra vigilant. Once we gather more information and establish areas that are being targeted, we will liaise with police and safer neighbourhoods teams to patrol various areas; but in the meantime - please be aware and do not give any access to your property to an unknown person.
Our employees will always carry photo ID cards and if you are in doubt, you can always call us on 0300 500 3000 to check their credentials.
Also, please be assured that all our contractors and staff working for contractors are wearing appropriately branded hi-visibility jackets, similar to the one in the photo. MPH staff, our contractors' staff and contractors are obliged to show ID cards or other forms of identification. Remember to always ask for an ID card before you let anyone in.
