They were nominated by Mrs Marion Hammond, who praised them for the help she has received from the couple over the years. When Mrs Hammond moved to a sheltered accommodation, Mr and Mrs Gould helped her ‘in every way and I cannot repay them, so this award will be a small way of saying how much I appreciate their help.’
However, the couple are not the only winners. Our congratulations go also to
Pat Owusu and Pauline Clark, of Yenston Close, and Mr and Mrs Watkins of Abingdon Close. They were nominated by grateful neighbours for overall help over the year and, as runners up in this year’s competition, were awarded shopping vouchers.
We are pleased to say that we receive more nominations this year, which is a sign that our residents do appreciate neighbourly help. We already look forward to next year’s awards and the surprises they will bring.
The 2011 awards ceremony took place on Monday, 5 December 2011, at our offices at The Grange. It was also the last sitting of MPH Residents’ Forum, which is being dissolved due to changes in our residents’ involvement framework. A new body, Resident Scrutiny Panel (RSP) will start working fully in January 2012. To read more about the RSP go to Get Involved/Residents Forum page.
