Resident Inspection is one of the ways you can get involved in checking service delivery. To help us do this we are looking to recruit residents to join our small team of Resident Inspectors who will be looking at how well we are performing against our service standards and make recommendations for improvements.
The next area for inspection will be the repairs service and we believe this will be an exciting new experience for interested residents.
The aims of Resident Inspectors are:
• To assess some of the services being provided by MVHA
• To suggest how services might be improved
• To contribute to a positive working relationship between MVHA and residents
• To help staff who run the service understand what will make a difference to how satisfied residents are
What does a Resident Inspector do and how much time is required?
Resident Inspectors work as part of a team to carry out in-depth checks on specific agreed service areas. The aim is to carry out a minimum of 2 inspections a year.
You will need to attend 2 day information sessions with an independent trainer to learn about what is involved. The information session will be held at MVHA offices Regent House Dorking. Each Inspection exercise should take between 3 – 4 days from start to finish, excluding information sessions, report writing (this is done by the trainer) and feed back to senior management.
The next information sessions will be held on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th January 2012 , 10.00am – 3.00pm at Regent House, Dorking.
If you are interested in becoming a resident inspector and would like to attend the information sessions, please contact the resident involvement team on 01306 505530/558residentinvolvement@mvha.org.uk by Thursday 5th January 2012.
We will cover your travel, childcare/carer cost for you to take part and lunch and refreshments will be provided.
