Roddons - Who we are, what we do

Roddons Housing Association is the leading provider of affordable housing for rent and shared ownership within the Fenland area, formed in November 2007 to accept the transfer of the former housing stock of Fenland District Council.

We own and manage 3,758 properties – all still within the Fenland District Council boundary – comprising 3,260 general needs and 483 sheltered housing units for older people for rent and 15 shared ownership homes. Roddons Sign

Roddons is part of the Circle Group, one of the country’s leading affordable housing providers with 65,000 properties in total.

The Circle Group’s mission, passionately shared and supported by us at Roddons, is ‘Enhancing Life Chances’ in respect to our residents. This means that, in addition to providing high quality, safe and secure accommodation, we embrace the challenge of working with and empowering our individual residents and wider communities to overcome disadvantages in terms of income, health, disability, worklessness and education in order to improve their quality of life and fulfil their true potential.

In order to support and achieve our mission of ‘Enhancing Life Chances’, the Circle Group have established 4 strategic goals, which are:

Roddons Building Each year, the Circle Group produces a ‘Life Chances Plan’ which details the individual initiatives and commitments to be implemented which will ensure delivery of these goals and hence ultimately our ‘Enhancing Life Chances’ mission.

We at Roddons then produce our own local Life Chances Plan, detailing our own series of initiatives and commitments to be delivered within Fenland. Our current 2011-12 Roddons Life Chances Plan contains 54 separate such initiatives, many of which – as detailed later within this Localism Plan – are directly relevant in regard to our above definition of localism.
