Festival fever hit staff at Roddons Housing Association who dressed up to parade through the streets of March for the third year running.
Roddons entered a float in the March Festival parade on Saturday 9th June, and to tie in with the theme of ‘Diamonds and Gold’ donned 1950s gear to mark the date of the Queen’s accession to the throne in 1952.
The centrepiece of the float, a Castle, was handed over to Burrrowmoor Primary School in March the following week.
Last year, a Fort used on the float was donated to Cavalry Primary School in March and in 2010, Westwood Junior School, also in March was presented with a ‘Wendy House’ after a fire destroyed a lot of play equipment.
The Castle was made by Roddons carpenter, Dave Powell and local firm, Ridgeons supplied some of the materials.
Roddons also had a trailer with information, games and quizzes on West End Park which attracted many visitors throughout the day.
