The housing association’s staff and contractor Erith Contractors Ltd. collected the money as part of their commitment to enhance life chances and make a positive difference to the local community. To raise the funds the team organised a special Christmas prize draw and donations from staff.
Sally Taylor, resident involvement officer for Roddons Housing Association, which is part of leading affordable housing provider Circle, said: “The work the team at the Macmillan & Hudson Palliative Care Centre is so important. We are very happy with the amount we managed to raise for the third time now. Our donation will benefit local people and their families and I would like to thank everyone who contributed, especially in these difficult times.”
The Macmillan & Hudson Palliative Care Centre provides services to patients with life-threatening illness and their families and carers under one roof.
Michelle Knight, clinical nurse specialist from Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust and sister for the Centre which is run by the Trust, added: “We are really grateful for the money which goes to help local people who are suffering from life limiting illnesses. We have some ideas where the money can be spent enhancing the services offered at the Centre.”
