Important Information about Housing Benefits

  • The Roddons Money Matters Officer or Income Team can give you advice on claiming benefits. Alternatively you can get a Housing and Council Tax benefit form from any Council 'One Stop Shop' or telephone them on 01354 654321.
  • You can submit your claim up to 13 weeks before you become entitled to Housing Benefit, but you will not normally receive any money before you move in.
  • You can get help filling in a housing benefit form at any Council One Stop Shop, or the Roddons Income Team.
  • Progressing your claim is your responsibility. If your Housing Benefit hasn't been paid, contact Fenland District Council to find out what is happening. There could be a backlog or they might need more information to assess your claim.
  • Under some circumstances you may be entitled to Housing Benefit even if you leave your property i.e. if you go into hospital or residential care, or are fleeing violence. If you think this might apply to you please call Fenland District Council on 01354 654321.
