Wherry Housing Association is part of Circle (formerly Circle Anglia) housing group and is a non-profit making organisation which means that any 'surpluses' are invested back into new and existing homes.
Wherry Housing Association is managed by a Board of 12 members, made up of 2 Councillors from all political parties, 3 residents and 7 independent people with professional skills to help run the service. We also have a Company Secretary who ensures that the company is run in full compliance with the Companies Act and all other appropriate legislation and best practice guidance.
Wherry Housing Association was formed following the transfer of 3715 homes from Broadland District Council in 1990. We are now proud to own and manage over 6,900 homes in Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire and Hertfordshire.
In 1995 we formed part of the Anglia Housing Group, the first group structure in the country, which then merged with Circle 33 Housing Group to become Circle Anglia (now Circle) in 2005, managing homes across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, London, Kent, Sussex, Surrey and beyond! Wherry is one of 9 housing associations in the Circle Group.
Since merging to become part of Circle, Wherry has developed a clear vision that goes beyond delivering decent homes and excellent services to creating safe attractive neighbourhoods with communities that work. We are proud to have retained a clear local identify whilst using our national profile to deliver improvements for our residents.
