Resident Training Calendar

Wherry's Resident Involvement team run a series of courses designed to help you get the most out of being involved with your landlord.

All courses are free to all residents and we will pay your travel costs to get to the venue too. We will always provide resfreshments and if courses run over the lunchtime period then sandwiches will also be provided.

Mystery Shopping	24/05/2012	10.30am – 12.30pm	Wherry Offices, 6 Central Avenue, St Andrews Business Park, Norwich	Jo Coxford	Mystery Shoppers are essential in making sure that we, Wherry Housing Association are doing a good job & checking that we are doing what we say we will. This training session will give you advice and hints and tips on how to complete a ‘shop’ & the subjects that will be discussed.
Resident Estate Inspector	25/05/2012	10.00am – 12.00pm	The Cottage, Thunder Lane, Thorpe St Andrews	Mehmet Yaman	This course aims to put the power in your hands! We will tell you all the things we look for on an Estate Inspection so that you can inspect your community. This means that problems with Grounds Maintenance and Communal cleaning get reported immediately
Communication Skills	28/05/2012	10.00am – 4.00pm	Wherry Offices, Learning and Development Training Room	TPAS	How to influence, negotiate and ask the right questions in order to get the right information. Communicate with others what you want to deliver.
Food Safety Training	30/05/2012	09.30am – 4.30pm	Jubilee Community Centre, Norwich Road, Aylsham	Lisa Irving	A one day course which leads to Chartered Institute of Environmental Health accredited “Level 2 Award in Food Safety” qualification. This course concludes with a 30 question multiple choice exam.
Presentation Skills	07/06/2012	10.00am – 4.00pm	Wherry Offices, St.Andrews Court, Room 3	TPAS	Putting together and delivering presentations. Understanding your audience and the context.
Fit 4 Purpose	20/06/2012	10.00am – 3.00pm	TBC	Lisa Irving	How do you set up a voluntary or Community Group? What is a constitution and why do you need one? If you are already part of a voluntary or Community Group or are thinking about setting a new one this workshop will help you to understand how to make it fit 4 purpose.
Committee Skills for Tenant Organisations	27/06/2012	10.00am – 4.00pm	Wherry Board Room	TPAS	Roles and responsibilities, methods for evaluating and reviewing the performance of the committee. How to hold an effective meeting.

Write it Right	18/07/2012	10.30am – 2.30pm	Jubilee Close Communal Room Jubilee Close Cawston Norfolk NR10 4AF	Lisa Irving	Where can you find funding to support your voluntary & community group? This beginner’s guide will show you where & how your group can access small grant funding. Unlock the door to small grant funding with our write it right workshop.
Working As A Team	21/07/2012	10.00am – 4.00pm	TBC	TPAS	Understanding Group Dynamics, understanding effective Group Work, assessing effectiveness and what behaviour can be helpful/unhelpful.
