TPAS Awards 2012
We are very proud to say that the Wherry Independent Scrutiny Panel and Wherry resident Amanda Read were shortlisted for TPAS Awards this year. The Scrutiny Panel were nominated in the Excellence in Working Together cateogry while Amanda was nominated in the Tenant of the Year category. Both Amanda and the Panel have worked very hard in the last year to make things better for, not only their own communities but for Wherry residents as a whole. Unfortunately, neither won in their category but it is a huge achievement to be recognised for what they are doing. Well done to you all!

NTO Approved!
In February this year, Wherry were pleased to announce that we have been successful in being granted a brand new award - NTO Approved! This new Award is given to organisations who demonstrate that they have robust set of processes in place to ensure that residents can hold their landlord to account. Sally Greetham, Neighbourhood Manager said, “It’s wholly thanks to the hard working residents who support our Scrutiny Panel, Patch Panels and Way Ahead with Wherry that we’ve been able to achieve this award.”
The National Tenant Organisations (NTOs) have developed NTOApproved as a basic checklist to help tenants and landlords work together to develop their systems for accountability, self-regulation and scrutiny.
Wherry residents are involved in developing a guide on Tenant Scrutiny and Co-Regulation
Wherry has been working with fellow Co-Regulatory champions to support the Centre for Public Scrutiny in developing this helpful toolkit for Practitioners and residents on Resident Scrutiny.
