As a leading housing provider with a strong local presence and a reputation for zero tolerance to ASB, Wherry will be implementing an assertive and intensive outreach support service to support and challenge its most vulnerable families.
Wherry Housing Association is one of 88 national organisations to have secured funding from the £4.9 million Challenge Fund government initiative for Family Intervention Projects available for social housing. Family Intervention Projects help adult and children’s services to work more closely together and take a whole family approach to secure better outcomes for children from families with complex needs.
Mark Jones, Managing Director of Wherry Housing Association, said: “We are delighted that our bid for a Specialist Family Intervention Service was successful and we are confident that with this new service in place we can support some of our most vulnerable residents. Our support involves helping families to access services and resources to improve their quality of life and help prevent family crisis. The services are tailor made to each family and will be focusing on helping them to set and achieve their own individual goals. Our intensive intervention work will not only benefit the families but also the communities they live in.”
