Unfortunately we received the sad news that Brenda Reynolds, Chair of Roddons Housing Association, died last week.
Brenda, who lived in the Fenland area for 45 years, was a resident Board member and the Chair of Roddons Housing Association from 2007 to 2016 and sat on the Circle Anglia Management Board for three years. She was heavily involved throughout the negotiations with Fenland District Council, the stock transfer vote and steering the Shadow Board until Roddons was legally formed in 2007.
Before this, Brenda had been involved with the March Residents Association since 1997 and was an active voice of the community. She remained the Chair of Roddons from the start in November 2007 and was proud to see it safely into Circle Thirty Three through the amalgamation process just before her nine-year term finished in November 2016.
Brenda was a great champion of tenants and wanted to make sure they had fair representation with the people who were providing their housing and that their views were taken into consideration. She was also a great advocate on behalf of the staff and she took a great personal interest in the well-being of everyone working at Beacon House in March. The staff from the March office who worked alongside her held her in high regard and will more than likely remember her for her big laugh that would resonate around the office. Staff and residents who knew her have called her “one in a million”, a “social housing hero” and “larger than life”.
Brenda’s funeral will be held on Thursday 5 October at 12:30pm at St Peter’s Church, then 1:30pm at the Crematorium and the Conservative Club afterwards.
